The Origin of Leeonardo

Since high school, close friends have called me Lee. In East Asian cultures, Lee is both a common surname and given name, carrying a sense of tradition and identity. At the same time, I have always been a technical and creative person, drawn to solving problems in unconventional ways.

I have long admired people of exceptional intelligence, and few figures in history embody this more than Leonardo da Vinci. His genius, curiosity, and ability to bridge art with science have fascinated me for years. The similarity between my nickname Lee and the name Leonardo felt like a natural connection—an opportunity to build a brand that reflects both my personal story and my admiration for one of history’s greatest minds.

The logo draws inspiration from Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, one of the most recognizable symbols of human proportion, balance, and creativity. But beyond this, I wanted to embed deeper layers of meaning—mathematical and philosophical elements that shape the world around us.

Pi-Spiral

The design incorporates the mathematical constant π (Pi), essential in science and engineering, alongside references to the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence, with their iconic spiral forms. By slightly reshaping the symbol of Pi, aligning it with the Vitruvian figure, and weaving in the spiral whose center aligns with the head and extends outward—like my own long hair today—the result became the Leeonardo logo.

Whether these details are visible at first glance or remain a hidden story only I see is a rhetorical question. What matters is that the logo captures the fusion of identity, mathematics, creativity, and homage to genius—all at the heart of Leeonardo.
